What’s in a name?
Why California Currents Photography? This name was chosen for multifaceted reasons. First, The vast majority of underwater photographs I take are from areas that fall within the California Current (more on that later), I was born and have spent the vast majority of my life living California, and lastly, I like to think that my photos capture aspects of the California near shore marine ecosystem at a set point in time; the current time.
So what is the California Current one might ask? The California Current is the name for the large southern moving current connecting all of North America beginning off of British Columbia, Canada and flowing all the way down along Baja California, Mexico. This current covers the vast majority of my photography and is integral to the marine ecosystem I am privileged to experience throughout the year.
