Nathan Coy

 

Nathan focuses on the underwater world of the Eastern Pacific Ocean, diving primarily out of Monterey California. He also photographs the underwater world of Southern California, Big Sur, the California North Coast, and internationally. His photos have been used for conservation organizations and by marine sanctuaries. In addition to conservation organization use, Nathan’s photos have won awards at the Monterey Shootout and Save our Shores Waves and Wildlife. He dive’s out of the shop Bamboo Reef located in Monterey and San Francisco. When above water Nathan works professionally as a sound archivist and librarian putting his formal studies in music, art, and librarianship to work. He has served on panels for both the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Bay Area Video Coalition and presented papers on sound archives and librarianship throughout the United States. He strives to be anti-racist and supports racial equity movements, including Black Lives Matter.
